As for the open lesson on Ukrainian Sign Language by Mrs.Adamiul N.B., one ought to point out that with her presentation one could see clearly the essence, the aim and the task of the subject of «Ukrainian Sign Language». All the present participants observed how do the tasks of three blocs of educational programmes of Ukrainian Sign Language actually combine — the contentual, the linguistic and the communicative ones, and at the same time they got to know that with more meanings of USL words being understood, the more knowledges are being gained within the theme of the lesson.
 
            The aim of the lesson: 1. Acquaintance of students with the notion «portrait», its kinds and constituents; 2. Development of practical skills of depicting the elements of a portrait in accordance with linguistical norms of the Ukrainian Sign Language; piling on of the data base of notions in Ukrainian Sign Language and Oral Speech. 3.Formation of skills of noticing special features of a face and recognition of individuality of each person.
            Equipment: multimedia blackboard, projector, computer.
 
Approximate structure of the lesson:
1.Organization and motivation of educational activity.
2.Actualization of basic knowledges of pupils:
-demonstration of sign language units under their numbers (in electronic version);
-grouping of sign language words upon similar meanings (formation of a sinonimical row);
-evolvement/determination of the general (main) meaning of a sinonimical row of words;
-work in small groups: formation of sign language sentences or words collocations with each of the given gestures of the same sinonimical row.
3.Work on the theme of the lesson:
-theoretical part of a new theme:
-Announcement of the theme and the aim of the lesson;
-Sign Language Lexics;
-Aquaintance with the Sign Language Notion «Portrait»:
-Determination of the term «Portrait»;
-Search for an approapriate image among the others;

-Exercise No.1. Formation of antonimical pairs in Ukrainian Sign Lnaguage and writing them in the form of the Speech;
-Exercise No. 2. Sentences, given in Speech, do recreate them by means of the Ukrainian Sign Language;
-Exercise No.3. Work in a group/groups: formation of the depiction of the person's portrait by means  of the Ukrainian Sign Language.

            The seminar ended in a short and laconic round-table discussion and burlesque debating over the resolution of the workshop, which evidenced the topical questions in the branch of a special school, that is for the category of the deaf and hard-of-hearing children.
 
            Below you will find the text of the resolution of this workshop:
 
            In connection with the increase of attention of the Ukrainian civilians and parents of the non-hearing children to the problems of quality of education and upbringing and in connection with the introduction (since 2009) into the register of educational subjects of general educational special schools for the deaf children and children with hearing impairments of the new educational subject «Ukrainian Sign Language» there appeared the necessity in development of certain aimed acts of the Ukrainian state and non-governmental structures with the aim of providiing fruitful conditions to their education, upbringing, realisation of their individual potential within conditions of children-centrism.
 
            Participants of the workshop.
 
-Having taken into consideration the Resolution No.3445 of the General Assembly of the United Nations Organization «Declaration on rights of persons with disabilities of 9.12.1971; Convention on professional rehabilitation and employment of the disabled persons; Resolutions of the European Parliament on Sign Languages of 17.06.1988; Recommendation of the European Parliament «Sequential/consecutive policy of rehabilitation of the disabled persons» of 6.10.1992; Resolution 48/96 of the General Assembly of the UNO «Standard Rules on Provision of Equal Opportunities for the Invalids»; Convention of the UNO On Rights of Invalids of 16.01.2006; Legislation of Ukraine: «On Basics of social defence of the disabled people in Ukraine» of 12.06.2007; «On rehabilitation of the disabled people in Ukraine» of 15.01.2009;
-having listened to the reports of the participants of the workshop as to the developed scientific-theoretical and methodical basics on bilingual education, the study of Ukrainian Sign Language in Special General Educational Establishments for the deaf and hearing impaired children;
-having considered the gained experience, highlighted during the open lessons, individual lectures and at the meeting of the round-table discussions;
 
have confirmed the necessity of improvement of the quality of education of the children with deafness and with hearing impairments and have maintained in general the proposed ways of rendering bilingual education and the study of Ukrainian Sign Language as a separate educational subject.
 
Participants of the workshop have addressed with the following proposals:
To the Ministry of Education ans Science:
1)to introduce the subject of Ukrainian Sign Language beginning with the preparatory class, 1-12 classes for special general educational schools for the deaf and hearing impaired children as an invariant part of education with duration of 2 hours within each week;
2)to open the speciality on preparation of/training teachers of Ukrainian Sign lnaguage in the higher pedagogical educational establishments of II-IV levels of pedagogical profile accreditation;
3)to promote introduction of bilingual education into the system of means of education and of rehabilitation of the deaf and hearing impaired children in accordance with the Law of Ukraine «On Basics of Social Defence of the Disabled Persons in Ukraine»;
4)having been based on the fact that the problem of education and upbringing of the deaf and hearing impaired children nowadays is hard enough due to the difficulty of the hearing defects themselves, and also due to availability of numerous accompanying deseases within the majoroty of such children, which need only special education, delivered by the pedagogues-defectologists, to safeguard the network of special general educational schools and boarding schools for the children with hearing disabilities;
5)to conduct All-Ukrainian scientific-practical conference on issues of receiving the higher education by persons with hearing impairments conjointly with the Institute of Special Pedagogics of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine and Central Board of the Ukrainian Society of the Deaf.
 
To the Institute of innovational technologies and the content of the education of the Ministry of Education and Science:
to promote the edition and promulgation of scientific-methodical, scientific-educational and other materials for bilingual education: a study of the subject «Ukrainian Sign Language»:
a)the methodical guide book to the programme «Ukrainian Sign Language» for the preparatory class, 1-12 classes for the deaf and hearing impaired children (authour — Adamiuk N.B.),
b)the bilingual programme on Ukrainian Sign Language Study for the preschool establishments of the compensative type for 1-4 years of study (authour — Drobot O.A.),
c)the didactic-methodological procurement for the study of «Ukrainain Sign Language» by the non-hearing children of preschool and junior school age (authour — Drobot O.A., Zborovska N.A.),
d)the video complete set «Ukrainian Folklore Fairytales in translation into Ukrainian Sign Language» (authours: Gryshchenko Ie. S., Stopkin V.V.);)
6)to develop methodical recommendations, in which to determine the positional/professional obligations of the teacher of Ukrainian Sign Language;
 
 
To the Central Board of the Ukrainian Society of the Deaf:
1)conjointly with the Institute of Special Pedagogics of the National Academy of Pedagocial Sciences of Ukraine to finish the work on ratification (adoption) of «Concept of bilingual education»;
2)conjointly with the Institute of special pedagogics of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine to hold courses on Ukrainian Sign Language teachers training with subsequent awarding them with the state licensed certificates of acquiring the qualification of the SL teacher;
3)to develop the complex of programmes for the system of training of sign language interpreters in Ukrainian Society of the Deaf;
4)to promote the decision-making in the Ukrainian Sign Language teachers' training in the state higher educational establishments of III-IV levels of accreditation;
 
To the institute of Special Pedagogics of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine:
1)to develop instructional-methodological materials about the study room of the Ukrainian Sign Lnguage subject in special general educational establishments for the deaf and hearing impaired children;
2)to develop the system of evaluation of knowledges, skills, abilities of the pupils of general educational special schools for the deaf and hearing impaired children at lessons of Ukrainian Sign Language;
3)to print materials of the III All-Ukrainian scientific-practical workshop in the selection of scientific works «Sign Language and contemporeinity»;
4)to render operative assistance to pedagogical collaborators and to methodists of the districtal Institutes of Postdiploma Pedagogical Education;
 
To regional administrations of education and science, administrations of special general educational schools (boarding schools) for the deaf and hearing impaired children:
1)to promote teaching of the subject «Ukrainian Sign Language» by teachers out of the amount of the non-hearing bearers/users of sign language in accordance with the explanatory message/note about the abovementioned educational programme;
2)(upon attestation of the level of SL knowledges by the pedagogues and attestation of the level of their free communication by means of Ukrainian Sign Language) to involve into the attaestation commission the native users of Sign Language;
3)to introduce into the vocational/positional obligations of pedagogical employees, including a practical psychologist and a social pedagogue of general educational special schools, the demand of fluent possession/communication of Ukrainian Sign Language;
4)to promote to collaboration of pedagogical personnel of schools with scholars of the Institute of Special Pedagogics of the National Academy of Pedagpgical Sciences of Ukraine with the aim of providing a qualitative psycho-pedagogical accompaniement for the educational-rehabilitational process;
5)to create the study rooms of Ukrainian Sign Language in each of the special general educational establishment for the deaf and hearing impaired children;
 
To the Board of the Union of the Non-Hearing Pedagogues (UNP):
a)to promote the effective selection of highly professional personnel for teaching the subject «Ukrainian Sign Language» in special general educational establishments  for the deaf and hearing impaired children;
b)to organize with the aim of mutual exhange of experience thematic educational-practical workshops of teachers of Ukrainian Sign Language;
c)to promote the development of educational-methodical visual aids for the lessons of Ukrainian Sign Language and the equipment for the study room of the Ukrainian Sign Langauge.
